A Message from Our Executive Director
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the new Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center website! This project has been a true labor of love - the result of close collaboration between our board, staff, and community. Without their valued input, this would not have been a reality today. Together, we have worked to create a refreshed image that honors our heritage while embracing the hope and future God has for us- whether you are a member/tenant of the campground or one of our valued retreat planners or retreat attendees.
Our goal has been simple: to make it easier for you to connect, explore, and experience all that Alton Bay has to offer. I invite you to watch the video below, featuring our Chairman of the Board as he shares more about the heart behind this project and how it came to fruition.

For more than 160 years, the Alton Bay Campmeeting Association - known today to our retreat ministry partners as the Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center - has been a haven for believers seeking to encounter God beside the still waters of Lake Winnipesaukee in beautiful Alton Bay, NH.
Overlooking the Lake's peaceful shores, we offer a variety of lodging, meeting, and worship spaces designed to host Christian retreats, ministry gatherings, summer camps, and community events.
Our historic grounds span more than 67 acres and are home to over 140 private cottages, some available for rent or sale.
Our peaceful lakeside grounds house some of the most breathtaking cottages in the country - timeless treasures celebrated by Reader's Digest, highlighted by NH.gov, and admired by visitors and professional photographers from across America and the world.
You would be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful sight to refresh your soul or host a retreat. It is a campus devoted to providing a peaceful haven for rest, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

We continue to proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus on these grounds, honoring the sacred mission that began here in 1863 - to provide a place where people of all ages can grow in their walk with Christ, strengthen relationships, and find inspiration in God's creation.

​Our Christian Campmeetings, three season retreat ministry, and summer programs bring believers together through inspiring speakers, uplifting music, and heartfelt worship that foster unity and joy. Whether you join us for a weekend retreat, a weeklong camp, or an extended summer stay, you will find a peaceful place to rest, pray, and reconnect with God. Here, you can listen, learn, and grow deeper in faith as you rejoice in His presence beside the still waters of Alton Bay, NH.
The Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center is open year-round, offering a serene New England setting where faith communities, church groups, and ministries can gather to experience inspiration, recreation, and spiritual growth.
